The Truth About Beauty
By: Emma~Grace
You are beautiful. You may feel like the world casts you out as an unwanted, but you are so beautiful. Sometimes, we try so hard to look our best, and get called ugly. We lose hope of trying to be pretty, and give up. Or we just try too hard. Beauty is temporary, but dignity is forever.

The Clay

God made you. He created you to be charming, and beautiful. He made you in his image. Isn't that so cool? He created you in his own image. He made you to look like him. Think about that for a second. He made you. He hand-crafted you, he designed you. You are priceless. You are handmade. You reflect how magnificent God is in a way no one else can. The potter made you the way he wanted you to be, and there is no mistake. God made every inch of you flawless, and the world has no right to define that.

The Potter

God made you. He is proud of his work. Nothing could ever make him crawl away in embarrassment when people see you. He is glad to show off his work. He's saying "Look at her, I made her myself. Isn't she gorgeous?" Just think, when people rebuke him and call you ugly, how do you think he feels? How do you think he feels when you call yourself ugly?

 Beauty Now

The world has changed views on beauty. Think about what was qualified as 'beautiful' in the 40's to now. Fashion designers have to constantly come up with new designs, because the last one is 'out of style'. I can't even catch up with what's in and out of style. This is not how God intended it to be. We all have our own sense of style, but when we are molded to fit the worlds wants, that is not OK. God made us who we are, as a piece of clay already made in perfection, and then the world molds us into something we're not.

Broccoli

It's like broccoli. You use broccoli for a vegetable, and you eat it. Now imagine that someone comes up with the idea to cover all broccoli in marshmallow creme. Now, that's a little weird, and maybe you're a little aggravated because you miss having plain broccoli. Then, some other person comes up with that broccoli is a desert, and you can only eat it after dinner. Now, you're a little madder, and disappointed. Later, someone else comes up that broccoli is an accessory. You have to wear one or else you aren't cool. If that seriously happened, I would be mad. Broccoli wasn't created to do any of those things. Whoever came up with those ideas was changing the mold for the pottery.

Who You Are

Think for a minute of what words you use to describe yourself. How would others describe you? Words like, curious, active, or mellow? Or words like, pretty, tall, or skinny? If people focus more on your outward beauty, more than you inward beauty, you need to show them your inner beauty.
How would you describe your best friend? Focus on her inner beauty, and encourage her in that area. Help her inner beauty grow. Show her that you love her for her heart and courage, instead of her looks and money.
As a girl, we want people to look at us, we want attention, and do many things to seek it. We dress in the hottest clothes, and strut around like clothes define how pretty we are. Something about us wants to be beautiful on the outside, more than the inside. There's nothing wrong with fixing your hair, or wearing cute clothes, but it is wrong when you obsess over it and feel that's how people evaluate you.
Beauty Changes, but you can stay the same.
